State Chapter Contact Person
  • Gather a data base (Names, City, and Telephone Numbers) of therapist/councilors throughout your city and/or state that are trained to deal with stepfamily dynamics. The data base submitted in your state will be listed on our website for stepfamily resources. (Gathering this information can be done over a time period and not all at once)
  • Gather phone and fax numbers to newspapers, radio stations, news stations in your city and/or state.  Help with PR work (We will provide Press Releases and information)
  • The media may want to interview a stepfamily in your area.
  • Your email will be listed as a city/state contact person.
 
State Chapter Leader
 
The Nature of the Relationship Between Chapters and the National Stepfamily Day Foundation (NSFDF) NSFDF is one organization with a single mission. (See Mission Below)
 
Within this mission, Chapter boards have the authority and the responsibility to develop resources and implement programs and activities within nationally approved policies and standards.
 
  •  NSFDF is one incorporated entity with chartered Chapters authorized to use the name, logo, etc., and to represent the Foundation within their designated geographic area.
 
  • Chapters carry out the work of the Foundation within their designated geographic area.
 
  • All funds received by Chapter will be deposited in a centralized account. Up to 50% of the net proceeds will be available to the local chapter for staffing, administrative expenses and to implement approved programs.
 
  • The portion of funds retained by NSFDF will be used to support NSFDF’s research, survivor and educational programs as well as NSFDF's investment in chapter infrastructure
 
  • Where financially viable, NSFDF will deploy staff to accelerate the growth of chapters. NSFDF
 
  • NSFDF will pay chapter staff from funds raised by Chapters. While working locally, all staff will be employees of NSFDF. NSFDF will interview, hire and supervise (with involvement from the Chapter) all Chapter staff.
 
 
NSFDF Chapter Requirements
 
  • Adhere to all NSFDF By-laws, policies, guidelines, procedures and practices and all applicable federal state and local requirements.(which you will receive upon starting a NSFDF Chapter.
 
  •  Use the NSFDF, service marks, slogans or trademarks only in appropriate manner and in accordance with NSFDF policies.
 
  • Accept, allocate and use all funds and property received in accordance with the policies of NSFDF.
 
  • Submit by the established deadline an approved plan of work and supporting budget annually.
 
  • Conduct at least one NSFDF fundraising event.
 
  • Additional chapter-developed programs must be reviewed and approved by NSFDF in advance of their implementation.
 
  • Submit all contracts and agreements to the NSFDF office for approval.
 
  • Promote NSFDF programs within the chapter service area.
 
 
National Stepfamily Day Foundation Mission:
 Is enhanced by our strong commitment to support the stepfamilies of our nation in their mission to raise their children, create strong family structures to support the individual members of the family, instill in them a sense of responsibility to all extended family members. To develop programs, research, and support the American Stepfamilies.

Chapter Leader Support Group
 
Chapter Support Groups invite members to join, hold biweekly or monthly meetings. Run charity events to earn the Chapter money to do activities. Groups are part of the Non-profit foundation. Guidelines on above application.
